Quasi‐Z‐source inverter with switched‐coupled‐capacitors

open access: yesIET Power Electronics
This paper presents an improved switched‐inductor quasi‐Z‐source inverter with a higher boost factor than similar inverters, which integrates a switched‐capacitor and a three‐winding switched‐coupled inductor into a conventional quasi Z‐source inverter ...

Dual-Input High-Gain Expandable Switched-Capacitor-Inductor Cell DC–DC Boost Converter

open access: yesIEEE Access
A new non-isolated high-gain DC-DC boost converter with a dual-input single-output expandable topology is presented in this work. The proposed design provides the dual-input high-gain expandable switched-capacitor-inductor cell (DIHGESCIC) converter for ...

Chiral Phase Change Nanomaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates reversible, non‐volatile phase transitions in chiral Ge2${\rm Ge}_2$Sb2${\rm Sb}_2$Te5${\rm Te}_5$ (GST) nanohelices for high‐speed optical modulation of chirality and dynamic control of the state of polarization (SOP). The chiral nanostructures are fabricated using a highly directional, wafer‐scale physical vapor deposition ...

Novel Scalable Topologies of High Power Density Quadratic Converters With Low Voltage Stress on Power Diode

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Industrial Electronics Society
High-gain dc–dc converters are used for a number of applications including the power processing of several low-voltage renewable energy sources (solar photovoltaic and fuel cells) while they are integrated into a microgrid. This article introduces

Embedded Ferroelectric Nanoclusters Can Drive Polarization Reversal in a Non‐Ferroelectric Polar Film via the Proximity Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric nanoclusters create local internal fields in a normally non‐switchable polar film because of polarization mismatch at their interfaces. That field opposes polarization in the regions with larger polarization and reinforces polarization in the regions with smaller polarization.

Simultaneous Optimal Network Reconfiguration, DG and Fixed/Switched Capacitor Banks Placement in Distribution Systems using Dedicated Genetic Algorithm

open access: yesMajlesi Journal of Electrical Engineering
The main objectives of distribution network reconfiguration are real power loss reduction and relieving the overload. As well, integration of distributed generation (DG) units and fixed/switched capacitor banks are effective options for operation cost ...

Effect of Optical Illumination on Bubble Nanodomains

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Stable surface‐confined nanoscale bubble domains are created and manipulated in PMN‐PT single crystals. Under above‐bandgap illumination, these bubble nanodomains remain unchanged. However, upon illumination cessation, they rapidly expand to switch the entire crystal surface, due to the accumulation of a large reservoir of electrons at the crystal ...

Performance Enhancement of Tin Chloride‐Incorporated Ferroelectric Polymer‐Based Artificial Synapse for Hardware Neural Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This paper proposes a highly efficient ferroelectric artificial synapse device based on an oxide semiconductor and SnCl2‐inserted P(VDF‐TrFE) gate dielectric layer. This FeFET significantly improved the synaptic performance due to the ion‐dipole interaction.
