Modelling of Switched Mode Fly-back Supply for Engineering Education

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2010
This paper presents a modelling method useful in the education process for the study of DC-DC power conversion principles using pulse width modulation converters. In this paper, the proposed modelling method is applied to a switched mode Fly-back supply.

A Chopper Stabilized Current-Feedback Instrumentation Amplifier for EEG Acquisition Applications

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
A low-noise, low-power, chopper-stabilized, current-feedback instrumentation amplifier (CFIA) for bio-potential signal acquisition applications is presented. The proposed design includes an ac-coupled chopper-stabilized CFIA to reduce 1/f noise.

A fully differential switched‐capacitor integrator based programmable resolution hybrid ADC architecture for biomedical applications

open access: yesIET Circuits, Devices and Systems, 2021
A novel switched‐capacitor integrator based programmable resolution analog to digital converter (ADC) architecture is proposed. The proposed hybrid ADC architecture can be switched between successive approximation register (SAR) and delta‐sigma modulator

By dawn or dusk—how circadian timing rewrites bacterial infection outcomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The circadian clock shapes immune function, yet its influence on infection outcomes is only beginning to be understood. This review highlights how circadian timing alters host responses to the bacterial pathogens Salmonella enterica, Listeria monocytogenes, and Streptococcus pneumoniae revealing that the effectiveness of immune defense depends not only

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
