Electromagnetic Forces in a Hybrid Magnetic-Bearing Switched-Reluctance Motor [PDF]

open access: yes
Analysis and experimental measurement of the electromagnetic force loads on the hybrid rotor in a novel hybrid magnetic-bearing switched-reluctance motor (MBSRM) have been performed. A MBSRM has the combined characteristics of a switched-reluctance motor

Detection of inter-turn faults in multi-phase ferrite-PM assisted synchronous reluctance machine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Inter-turn winding faults in five-phase ferrite-permanent magnet-assisted synchronous reluctance motors (fPMa-SynRMs) can lead to catastrophic consequences if not detected in a timely manner, since they can quickly progress into more severe short-circuit

Action Design Research for Actionable Knowledge Production: A Metareflexive Methodology for Digital Transformation and Innovation Studies

open access: yesCreativity and Innovation Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The sociotechnical complexities and hidden dynamics shaping the evolution of digital transformation (DT) and innovation initiatives frequently elude traditional research approaches reliant on retrospective analysis, static and detached observation.

Complimentary Force Allocation Control for a Dual-Mover Linear Switched Reluctance Machine

open access: yesEnergies, 2017
This paper inspects the complementary force allocation control schemes for an integrated, dual-mover linear switched reluctance machine (LSRM). The performance of the total force is realized by the coordination of the two movers. First, the structure and

Block scheduling in practice: An optimal decomposition strategy for nonidentical operating rooms

open access: yesDecision Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract We develop and implement a Master Surgery Schedule for a real‐life hospital, assigning operating room (OR) time to surgical specialties over a multi‐week horizon. Through action research, we identify a critical operational challenge: the issue of split blocks. Split blocks allow two specialties to share an OR on the same day—one in the morning,

In-wheel motor design for electric vehicles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In this work an in-wheel electric motor prototype has been designed for experimental purposes. In-Wheel Motor (Hub motor) can be used in electric cars with 4 wheel independent drive configuration.

Control of switched reluctance machines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This thesis is concerned with the control of switched reluctance machines for both motoring and generating applications. There are different control objectives in each case. For motoring operation, there are two possible control objectives. If the SRM is being employed in a servo-type application, the desire is for a constant output torque.

Replication code availability over time and across fields: Evidence from the German Socio‐Economic Panel

open access: yesEconomic Inquiry, Volume 63, Issue 2, Page 357-386, April 2025.
Abstract Providing replication code is an inexpensive way to facilitate reproducibility. However, little is known about the extent of replication code provision. Therefore, we examine the availability of replication code for over 2500 peer‐reviewed articles based on the German Socio‐Economic Panel (SOEP), one of the most widely used datasets in ...

Modelling and design optimization of switched reluctance motors based on machine learning methods: Review

open access: yesFranklin Open
Accurate modelling of Switched Reluctance Motors (SRM) is a complex and time consuming task that involves a lot of tradeoffs and assumptions. Numerical and analytical modelling techniques have been extensively used in literature.

The new poor law and the health of the population of England and Wales

open access: yesThe Economic History Review, EarlyView.
Abstract We estimate the impact of reductions in poor law expenditure on rural life expectancy and mortality rates in England and Wales following the 1834 Poor Law Amendment Act. Given the scale of cuts imposed, our estimates imply 8–10 per cent increases in mortality at ages 1–4 years and 2–4 per cent falls in rural expectation of life at birth.
