RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF AN ELECTRIC TRACTION DRIVE BASED ON A SWITCHED RELUCTANCE MOTOR [PDF]

open access: yesTransport Problems, 2018
In the most developed countries, intensive studies are being carried out to utilize various types of electric machines such as synchronous motors with permanent magnets and traction motors with non-traditional magnetic systems on traction electric drives.

Linear Switched Reluctance Motors

open access: yes, 2020
This chapter deals with linear switched reluctance machines (LSRMs). Linear switched reluctance machines are the counterpart of the rotary switched reluctance machine (SRM), and now they have aroused great interest in the field of electrical machines and drives.

Linear Hybrid Reluctance Motor with High Density Force

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
Linear switched reluctance motors are a focus of study for many applications because of their simple and sturdy electromagnetic structure, despite their lower thrust force density when compared with linear permanent magnet synchronous motors.

Optimal current waveforms for switched-reluctance motors [PDF]

open access: yes2016 IEEE Conference on Control Applications (CCA), 2016
In this paper, we address the problem of finding current waveforms for a switched reluctance motor that minimize a user-defined combination of torque ripple and RMS current. The motor model we use is fairly general, and includes magnetic saturation, voltage and current limits, and highly coupled magnetics (and therefore, unconventional geometries and ...

Minimization of torque pulsations by using a novel fuzzy controller in SRM drives for EV applications

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
In recent years, the applications of Changed Reluctance Motors have expanded, from control system stepping motors to high torque e-vehicle applications. High-speed operation and a light-weight driving motor are required for an effective electric vehicle ...

Torque ripple minimization of a switched reluctance motor [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of 1995 IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition - APEC'95, 1995
This paper presents a simple technique to minimize torque ripple of a switched reluctance motor. The technique is based on the control of the sum of the square of the phase currents by using only two current sensors and analog multipliers. The simulation results and a proposed circuit are given.

A New Technique for Radial and Tangential Force Calculation Time Reduction for the Optimization Process of SRMs

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
This article introduces a new technique for reducing the time of calculating radial and tangential force density waves of switched reluctance machines (SRMs). The method is based on the finite element (FE) simulation of a fraction of an electrical cycle.

Design and analysis of switched reluctance motor with FEM based Ansys-Maxwell

open access: yesMANAS: Journal of Engineering, 2022
In this study, radial forces that create noise, which is a fundamental problem in Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM), are investigated. Since radial force causes stator vibrations and noise caused by magnetic field, a new switched reluctance motor model ...

Switched reluctance motor design for electric vehicles based on harmonics and back EMF analysis

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
Permanent magnet synchronous motors are widely accepted in automotive applications. The high torque density, high rotational speed with maximum efficiency in electric vehicle applications is technically challenging for motor design.
