An Automatic Method for Generating Symbolic Expressions of Zernike Circular Polynomials
Zernike circular polynomials (ZCP) play a significant role in optics engineering. The symbolic expressions for ZCP are valuable for theoretic analysis and engineering designs.

Algebraic curve interpolation for intervals via symbolic-numeric computation
Algebraic curve interpolation is described by specifying the location of N points in the plane and constructing an algebraic curve of a function f that should pass through them. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to construct the algebraic curve that interpolates a set of data (points or neighborhoods).

Symbolic-Numeric Computation [PDF]
The growing demand of speed, accuracy, and reliability in scientific and engineering computing has been accelerating the merging of symbolic and numeric computations, two types of computation coexisting in mathematics yet separated in traditional research of mathematical computation.

On Kahan's Rules for Determining Branch Cuts [PDF]
In computer algebra there are different ways of approaching the mathematical concept of functions, one of which is by defining them as solutions of differential equations. We compare different such approaches and discuss the occurring problems.

Symbolic, numeric, and quantum computation of Hartree-Fock equation
In this article, we discuss how a kind of hybrid computation, which employs symbolic, numeric, classic, and quantum algorithms, allows us to conduct Hartree-Fock electronic structure computation of molecules. In the proposed algorithm, we replace the Hartree-Fock equations with a set of equations composed of multivariate polynomials.

Computing GCRDs of Approximate Differential Polynomials [PDF]
Differential (Ore) type polynomials with approximate polynomial coefficients are introduced. These provide a useful representation of approximate differential operators with a strong algebraic structure, which has been used successfully in the exact ...
