Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Two-Year-Olds’ Symbolic Use of Images Provided by a Tablet: A Transfer Study

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2019
Touch screen devices are nowadays part of everyday life and parents and educators assume that young children use their images in a symbolic way. This research aims at replicating and expanding a previous one that reported that, contrary to expectations ...

To the Problem of the Lexical and Grammatical Composition of Avar Paremiological Units, which Characterize Women

open access: yesИзвестия Южного федерального университета: Филологические науки, 2020
The given article describes the features of the lexical and grammatical composition of Avar gender paremiological units characterizing women: substantive and verbal evaluative and symbolic lexical units that form positive and negative images of women are

Symbolic image matching by simulated annealing [PDF]

open access: yesProcedings of the British Machine Vision Conference 1990, 1990
In this paper we suggest an optimisation approach to visual matching. We assume that the information available in an image may be conveniently represented symbolically in a relational graph. We concentrate on the problem of matching two such graphs.

The rock: points of view in Bart De Clercq's painting [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Images are of the order of monsters. They are beautiful in the same way that they are shocking to the eye. In Édouard Manet’s own words: “Un des plus beaux, des plus curieux, et des plus terribles spectacles que l’on puisse voir, c’est une course de ...

Affordances of Historic Urban Landscapes: an Ecological Understanding of Human Interaction with the Past [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Heritage has been defined differently in European contexts. Despite differences, a common challenge for historic urban landscape management is the integration of tangible and intangible heritage. Integration demands an active view of perception and human-

Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

VEGETAL MOTIFS IN THE DECORATION INTERIOR FABRICS – SOURCES AND RESEARCH SPACES [PDF]

open access: yesStudiul Artelor şi Culturologie: Istorie, Teorie, Practică
Most traditional fabrics contain symbolic, realistic, and highly stylized phytomorphic images. The issue of semantics and symbolic message through the application of vegetation images in traditional textiles is fundamentally complex and still under ...

Lusciousness - flora and the crafted image in a digital environment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The development of digital imaging within science has been as swift as it is impressive, as the images of outer space developed from data sent back from the Hubble Telescope bear witness.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.
