Two classes of reducible cyclic codes with large minimum symbol-pair distances [PDF]
The high-density data storage technology aims to design high-capacity storage at a relatively low cost. In order to achieve this goal, symbol-pair codes were proposed by Cassuto and Blaum \cite{CB10,CB11} to handle channels that output pairs of overlapping symbols.

MDS Symbol-Pair Codes from Repeated-Root Cyclic Codes [PDF]
Symbol-pair codes are proposed to combat pair-errors in symbol-pair read channels. The minimum symbol-pair distance is of significance in determining the error-correcting capability of a symbol-pair code. Maximum distance separable (MDS) symbol-pair codes are optimal in the sense that such codes can achieve the Singleton bound.

Double symbolic joint entropy in nonlinear dynamic complexity analysis [PDF]
Symbolizations, the base of symbolic dynamic analysis, are classified as global static and local dynamic approaches which are combined by joint entropy in our works for nonlinear dynamic complexity analysis. Two global static methods, symbolic transformations of Wessel N.

Unsettling subject English in the twenty‐first century

Efficient Symbolic Policy Learning with Differentiable Symbolic Expression [PDF]
Deep reinforcement learning (DRL) has led to a wide range of advances in sequential decision-making tasks. However, the complexity of neural network policies makes it difficult to understand and deploy with limited computational resources. Currently, employing compact symbolic expressions as symbolic policies is a promising strategy to obtain simple ...
