Symmetric Graph Designs

Graphs and Combinatorics, 2000
The authors introduce the notion of a symmetric graph design (SGD) which is a generalization of a symmetric balanced incomplete block design. In particular, a symmetric \((n,G,\lambda;F)\)-design is a collection \(\{G_1, G_2, \dots{}, G_n\}\) of spanning subgraphs of the complete graph \(K_n\) such that: (i) \(G_i \simeq G\) for \(i = 1, \dots{}, n\); (

Symmetric designs and geometroids

Combinatorica, 1989
A \(\lambda\)-set in a symmetric 2-(v,k,\(\lambda)\) design \(\Pi\) is a subset S meeting every block in 0, 1 or \(\lambda\) points such that for any point of S there is a unique block meeting S at that point only. In this paper, families of symmetric 2-designs containing \(\lambda\)-sets are investigated.

On quasi-symmetric designs

Designs, Codes and Cryptography, 1992
The author proves some necessary existence conditions for quasi-symmetric designs, i.e. designs with exactly two block intersection sizes. Properties of the incidence matrix of the design are used to achieve the results which rule out several sets of admissible parameters for quasi- symmetric designs.
