A novel approach to non-commutative gauge theory
We propose a field theoretical model defined on non-commutative space-time with non-constant non-commutativity parameter Θ(x), which satisfies two main requirements: it is gauge invariant and reproduces in the commutative limit, Θ → 0, the standard U(1 ...

Mathematical Geometry and Groups for Low-Symmetry Metal Complex Systems
Since chemistry, materials science, and crystallography deal with three-dimensional structures, they use mathematics such as geometry and symmetry. In recent years, the application of topology and mathematics to material design has yielded remarkable ...

On the geometry of twisted symmetries: Gauging and coverings [PDF]
We consider the theory of \emph{twisted symmetries} of differential equations, in particular $ $ and $ $-symmetries, and discuss their geometrical content. We focus on their interpretation in terms of gauge transformations on the one hand, and of coverings on the other one.

Internal symmetry in Poincarè gauge gravity
We find a large internal symmetry within 4-dimensional Poincarè gauge theory. In the Riemann-Cartan geometry of Poincaré gauge theory the field equation and geodesics are invariant under projective transformation, just as in affine geometry.

Symmetry notion as a universal principle of design [PDF]
Symmetry is a word that appears in a variety of disciplines over a variety of ages, carries many meanings and has always been in direct relation to the most important notions which explain architectural creativity.

Hexakis(dimethyl sulfoxide-κO)cobalt(III) trinitrate
The metal atom of the title salt, [Co(C2H6OS)6](NO3)3, is coordinated by six dimethyl sulfoxide molecules in an octahedral geometry. The metal atom lies on a special position of overline{3} site symmetry.

Symmetry and Symmetry Breaking in Physics: From Geometry to Topology [PDF]
Symmetry (and group theory) is a fundamental principle of theoretical physics. Finite symmetries, continuous symmetries of compact groups, and infinite-dimensional representations of noncompact Lie groups are at the core of solid physics, particle physics, and quantum physics, respectively.

Quantum gravity from Weyl conformal geometry
We review recent developments in physical implications of Weyl conformal geometry. The associated Weyl quadratic gravity action is a gauge theory of the Weyl group of dilatations and Poincaré symmetry.

On the coupling of Galilean-invariant field theories to curved spacetime
We consider the problem of coupling Galilean-invariant quantum field theories to a fixed spacetime. We propose that to do so, one couples to Newton-Cartan geometry and in addition imposes a one-form shift symmetry.
