The ultrastructure of the spermathecae in the Collembola Symphypleona (Hexapoda)
Journal of Morphology, 2008AbstractThe fine structure of the paired spermathecae of two Symphypleona Collembola, Sminthurus viridis and Allacma fusca, was studied. The spermathecal epithelium is rich in pigment granules, while secretory organelles are scarce, consisting of a few mitochondria and microtubules, scattered cisterns of endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi systems.

Ontogenetic trajectories in Symphypleona (Collembola)
Journal of Morphology, 1996A novel approach is proposed toward quantifying changes in chaetotaxy during the development of Collembola Symphypleona. The ontogenetic trajectories method applied to the tibiotarsal chaetotaxy of Symphypleona provides a representation of their development. Every seta, through the probability of its presence, can be regarded as a character.

COLLEMBOLA SYMPHYPLEONA (INSECTA, ENTOGNATHA) FROM ISRAEL
Israel Journal of Zoology, 2000The studied collection of Symphypleona, Collembola from Israel contains a total of 30 taxa, all but one new to Israel. Seven species (Deuterosminthuruskugleri, Dicyrtomina nigra, Gisinurus orenensis, Sminthurinus lineatus,S. pullus, S. quadratus, Sphaeridia superstes) and one genus and species (Orenius parvus) new to science are described.

Four New Species of Symphypleona (Collembola) from Korea
Entomological Research, 2005ABSTRACT Four new species of Symphypleona, Ptenothrix plumiseta, Deuterosminthurus serratus, Sminthurus annulatus, Smithurinus distinctus, are described from Korea. Especially two genera, Deuterosminthurus and Sminthurinus are new record to Korea. Korean Collembola Symphypleona add up to 18 species, 11 genera in 6 family.

Systematic Entomology, 1980Abstract. Songhaica nigeriana gen. et sp.n. is described from tropical rain forest in Nieria. Sminthurus stylifer Murphy from wooded Savanna and cultivated soils in Gambia also belongs in this new genus.

Zootaxa, 2012The new species Stenognathriopes (Tenentiella) janssensi sp. nov. (Collembola, Bourletiellidae) is described from coastal vegetation. This is the second species named to the subgenus Tenentiella and can be diagnosed by presenting nine subsegments on Ant IV, large conical tenent hair and tibiotarsal setae coarsely dented.
