Our research demonstrates that in mirroring prevailing human biases towards different insect groups, LLM chatbots oversimplify insect diversity by predominantly restricting “bees” to honeybees and “wasps” to yellowjackets, neglecting the majority of biodiversity that includes wild bees and parasitoid wasps, while also favouring Nearctic species in ...

Abstract Plant‐pollinator interactions exist along a continuum from complete specialisation to highly generalised, that may vary in time and space. A long‐held assumption is that large bees are usually the most effective pollinators of generalist plants.

The short spermatodesm of Arge pagana (Hymenoptera: symphyta)
In the seminal vesicle of the 'symphyta'Arge pagana the spermatozoa are stored in motile spermatodesm bundles, maintained by an anterior cap of extracellular material. This cap consists of a denser cortex and of an internal matrix, where part of the sperm heads are embedded. The number of spermatozoa per bundle is variable.

The cryptonephridial/rectal complex: an evolutionary adaptation for water and ion conservation
ABSTRACT Arthropods have integrated digestive and renal systems, which function to acquire and maintain homeostatically the substances they require for survival. The cryptonephridial complex (CNC) is an evolutionary novelty in which the renal organs and gut have been dramatically reorganised. Parts of the renal or Malpighian tubules (MpTs) form a close
