Locally conformal symplectic nilmanifolds with no locally conformal Kähler metrics

open access: yesComplex Manifolds, 2017
We report on a question, posed by L. Ornea and M. Verbitsky in [32], about examples of compact locally conformal symplectic manifolds without locally conformal Kähler metrics.

Metaplectic operators with quasi‐diagonal kernels

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, Volume 298, Issue 12, Page 3618-3638, December 2025.
Abstract Metaplectic operators form a relevant class of operators appearing in different applications, in this work we study their Schwartz kernels. Namely, diagonality of a kernel is defined by imposing rapid off‐diagonal decay conditions, and quasi‐diagonality by imposing the same conditions on the smoothing of the kernel through convolution with the

Reidemeister torsion and integrable Hamiltonian systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1999
In this paper, we compute the Reidemeister torsion of an isoenergetic surface for the integrable Hamiltonian system on the 4-dimensional symplectic manifold. We use the spectral sequence defined by the filtration and following Floer-Witten ideas we bring

Compactifications of strata of differentials

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 57, Issue 12, Page 3621-3636, December 2025.
Abstract In this informal expository note, we quickly introduce and survey compactifications of strata of holomorphic 1‐forms on Riemann surfaces, that is, spaces of translation surfaces. In the last decade, several of these have been constructed, studied, and successfully applied to problems.

Maximal symplectic torus actions

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 57, Issue 12, Page 4132-4148, December 2025.
Abstract There are several different notions of maximal torus actions on smooth manifolds, in various contexts: symplectic, Riemannian, complex. In the symplectic context, for the so‐called isotropy‐maximal actions, as well as for the weaker notion of almost isotropy‐maximal actions, we give classifications up to equivariant symplectomorphism.

Explicit constructions of short virtual resolutions of truncations

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 57, Issue 12, Page 4000-4014, December 2025.
Abstract We propose a concept of truncation for arbitrary smooth projective toric varieties and construct explicit cellular resolutions for nef truncations of their total coordinate rings. We show that these resolutions agree with the short resolutions of Hanlon, Hicks, and Lazarev, which were motivated by symplectic geometry, and we use our definition

G 2 holonomy, Taubes’ construction of Seiberg-Witten invariants and superconducting vortices

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
Using a reformulation of topological N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 QFT’s in M-theory setup, where QFT is realized via M5 branes wrapping co-associative cycles in a G 2 manifold constructed from the space of self-dual 2-forms over a four-fold X, we show that ...

Model category structures on truncated multicomplexes for complex geometry

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 57, Issue 12, Page 4163-4177, December 2025.
Abstract To a bicomplex one can associate two natural filtrations, the column and row filtrations, and then two associated spectral sequences. This can be generalized to N$N$‐multicomplexes. We present a family of model category structures on the category of N$N$‐multicomplexes where the weak equivalences are the morphisms inducing a quasi‐isomorphism ...

Symplectic Singularities and Solvable Hamiltonian Mappings

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 2015
We study singularities of smooth mappings F̄ of ℝ2n into symplectic space (ℝ2n , ω̇) by their isotropic liftings to the corresponding symplectic tangent bundle (Tℝ2n,w). Using the notion of local solvability of lifting as a generalized Hamiltonian system,

Explicit height estimates for CM curves of genus 2

open access: yesTransactions of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 12, Issue 1, December 2025.
Abstract In this paper, we make explicit the constants of Habegger and Pazuki's work from 2017 on bounding the discriminant of cyclic Galois CM fields corresponding to genus 2 curves with CM and potentially good reduction outside a predefined set of primes. We also simplify some of the arguments.
