Obrađene su sinagoge nastale u Hrvatskoj u razdoblju historicizma (II.pol. 19. i poč. 20. st.). Istraženo je podrijetlo tipova, stilske karakteristike, tipološke pojavnosti, organizacija prostora i moguće autorske atribucije za odabrane primjere naših sinagoga. Promatrana je i njihova sudbina tijekom II. svj. rata i poslije.
