In this work we study the synchronization between identical pairs of hyperchaotic mathematical systems symmetrically coupled. Calculations are performed firstly in two well-known hyperchaotic systems, and then compared with the results obtained coupling symmetrically two Takens–Bogdanov systems (TBS) which represent a bifurcation in Codimension 2 (a ...

Sociological studies of work and time have argued that academic temporalities are increasingly rationalized and rendered accountable, resulting in a divergence of planned and experienced time in academic work. Shared research facilities that provide platform technologies to large user pools are no exception to this, as its administrations seek to ...

A method using the standard radio-frequency receiver was developed to telemeter biopotentials across the intact body wall; it can be employed to program a stimulus to the heart at any phase of the cardiac cycle. The small variations of potential across the electrodes of the implanted cardiac pacemaker change the natural resonant frequency of the ...

In this paper, we use nonlinear control method for synchronization of two identical chaotic generalized Lotka-Volterra system. The determination of the controller is based on the Lyapunov stability theory. Numerical simulation results are shown for demonstration.

In this chapter, synchronization of a network into groups with distinct behavior is discussed. Both networks with heterogeneous units and networks with identical node dynamics are considered, and the peculiarities of this form of synchronization in the two cases are illustrated.

Most published concurrent data structures which avoid locking do not provide any fairness guarantees. That is, they allow processes to access a data structure and complete their operations arbitrarily many times before some other trying process can complete a single operation. Such a behavior can be prevented by enforcing fairness.

In this chapter, we discuss the most studied form of synchronization in a network, where all the units asymptotically converge toward the same trajectory. After describing the phenomenon and the measures to characterize it, we illustrate the methods for the study of the stability and present some results on how to control it.
