TriggerSync: A time synchronisation tool [PDF]
This paper presents a framework for synchronising multiple triggered sensors with respect to a local clock using standard computing hardware. Providing sensor measurements with accurate and meaningful timestamps is important for many sensor fusion, state

Real-time cyber−physical system co-simulation testbed for microgrids control
This study presents a real-time cyber−physical system co-simulation testbed for microgrids. The proposed testbed consists of two parts, a power simulator and a communication simulator, which has the capacity to emulate a physical micro-grid with large ...

Membrane composition and thermodynamic identity as boundaries of life for synthetic cell research
What makes a cell a cell? The boundary of a living cell is not just a wall. Read as a Markov blanket, the membrane separates internal from external states, generating identity and non‐equilibrium order. Can this identity be rebuilt from scratch in a synthetic cell?

Identification of voltage stability condition of a power system using measurements of bus variables
Several online methods were proposed for investigating the voltage stability condition of an interconnected power system using the measurements of voltage and current phasors at a bus. For this purpose, phasor measurement units (PMUs) are used.

Synchronised Range Queries [PDF]
In this paper, we present and evaluate a system for performing logical-time synchronised Range Queries over data in the context of parallel and distributed simulations of Multi-Agent Systems (MAS). MAS are often extremely complex and simulation is commonly used to understand their behaviour or investigate the implications of alternative agent ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Equitability and explosive synchronisation in multiplex and higher-order networks
Cluster synchronisation is a key phenomenon observed in networks of coupled dynamical units. Its presence has been linked to symmetry and, more generally, to equability of the underlying pattern of interactions between dynamical units. However, it is not

This study identifies somatostatin receptor 4 (Sstr4) as a critical tumor suppressor against skin and head/neck cancers (HNSCC, cSCC, and BCC). The loss of Sstr4 removes a check on cell growth, causing hyperactivation of the MAPK‐ERK signaling pathway (↑).

Business Cycle Synchronisation in the Enlarged EU: Co-Movements in the New and Old Members. CEPS Working Documents No. 200, 1 March 2004 [PDF]
It is generally recognised that countries wanting to join a monetary union should display the optimal currency area properties. One such property is the similarity of business cycles.
