SYNCHRONIZATION THROUGH FILTERING

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2000
We study the synchronization problem in discrete-time via an extended Kalman filter (EKF). That is, synchronization is obtained of transmitter and receiver dynamics in case the receiver is given via an EKF that is driven by a noisy drive signal from a noisy transmitter dynamics.

Generalized synchronization versus phase synchronization

Physical Review E, 2000
The relation between generalized synchronization and phase synchronization is investigated. It was claimed that generalized synchronization always leads to phase synchronization, and phase synchronization is a weaker form than generalized synchronization.

SYNCHRONOUS STARTING OF SYNCHRONOUS MACHINE

Electric Machines & Power Systems, 1993
ABSTRACT Synchronous starting is one of the methods for starting large synchronous motors by small synchronous generators. The equations for Concordia's interlocked generator-motor block logic for synchronous starting are derived in detail. The equations for software implementation including saturation and motor friction torque are presented ...

Dynamic synchronization

Proceedings of the International Workshop on Smalltalk Technologies, 2009
In conventional software applications, synchronization code is typically interspersed with functional code, thereby impacting understandability and maintainability of the code base. At the same time, the synchronization defined statically in the code is not capable of adapting to different runtime situations.

Synchronous Multiparty Synchronizations and Transactions

2008
In this paper we analyze how a powerful synchronization mechanism such as synchronous multiparty synchronizations, which is able to specify atomic reconfigurations of large systems, can be implemented using binary synchronizations combined with a transactional mechanism.

Synchronizing transients and synchronizers for large machines

Electrical Engineering, 1940
IT IS a curious fact that the phenomena encountered in synchronizing operations have received scant attention in the technical literature even though the phenomena have been encountered ever since two synchronous machines were first operated in parallel, and even though a large number of synchronizing operations are performed every day.

Synchronization and Synchronous Oscillators

1980
Synchronization is an important phenomenon which has applications for reliable and efficient communications systems and other fields. The concept of synchronization originated in the 17th century with Huygens, who reported that two clocks which were slightly out of step with each other became synchronized when hung on a thin wooden board.

Comparison of synchronous and synchronized cell division

Experimental Cell Research, 1964
Summary The evaluation of division synchrony by means of a synchronization index (SI) allows a comparison of various systems under constant or changing conditions. Such a comparison can be used in the evaluation of the controversial “normality” of a system and aid in the search for the effect of environmental changes on the life cycle of cells in ...
