Synchronization and Transient Stability in Power Networks and Non-Uniform Kuramoto Oscillators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Motivated by recent interest for multi-agent systems and smart power grid architectures, we discuss the synchronization problem for the network-reduced model of a power system with non-trivial transfer conductances.

Synchronization and partial synchronization of linear maps

open access: yes, 2003
We study synchronization of low-dimensional ($d=2,3,4$) chaotic piecewise linear maps. For Bernoulli maps we find Lyapunov exponents and locate the synchronization transition, that numerically is found to be discontinuous (despite continuously vanishing ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

A Stability Control Method to Maintain Synchronization Stability of Wind Generation under Weak Grid

open access: yesEnergies
When wind generation systems operate under weak grid conditions, synchronization stability issues may arise, restricting the wind farms’ power transfer capacity. This paper aims to address these challenges on the grid side. Firstly, a clear exposition of

Dynamics and Stability of Permanent‐Magnet Synchronous Motor [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, 2017
The aim of this article is to explore the dynamic characteristics and stability of the permanent‐magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). PMSM equilibrium local stability condition and Hopf  bifurcation condition, pitchfork bifurcation condition, and fold bifurcation condition have been derived by using the Routh‐Hurwitz criterion and the bifurcation theory ...

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Dynamical behaviors, control and synchronization of a new chaotic model with complex variables and cubic nonlinear terms

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2017
A novel chaotic model with complex variables and cubic non-linear terms was proposed. The new system is a six dimensional continuous real autonomous chaotic system.

Complete Characterization of Stability of Cluster Synchronization in Complex Dynamical Networks

open access: yes, 2015
Synchronization is an important and prevalent phenomenon in natural and engineered systems. In many dynamical networks, the coupling is balanced or adjusted in order to admit global synchronization, a condition called Laplacian coupling.
