Controlled synchronization: a Huygens' inspired approach
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2014This paper considers synchronization as a control problem. In particular, a (robust) controller for achieving synchronization in pairs of second order nonlinear systems is designed. The design is inspired by the classical experiment on synchronization of pendulum clocks, as described by Christiaan Huygens. In the proposed control scheme, the systems do

Generalized synchronization via nonlinear control
Chaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science, 2008In this paper, the generalized synchronization problem of drive-response systems is investigated. Using the drive-response concept and the nonlinear control theory, a control law is designed to achieve the generalized synchronization of chaotic systems.

The arguments against centralized solutions focus on the performance bottleneck associated with a single central uniprocessor having a limited throughput and, possibly, a small number of ports. These limitations can be overcome to some extent if the central processor is replaced by a modern SIMD (Single Instruction Multiple Data) machine.

Current-controlled synchronous rectification
Proceedings of 1994 IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition - ASPEC'94, 2002This paper presents several strategies for implementing a current-controlled synchronous rectifier. One approach utilizes a current-sensing transformer in series with the rectifying MOSFET to derive the required gating signals. The second method uses the mirror current of a current-sensing MOSFET.

Output control of synchronous motors
Proceedings of the 37th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (Cat. No.98CH36171), 2002A dynamic controller is derived for a synchronous motor in the case of angular position tracking, when inertia, friction coefficient, resistant torque and stator resistance are unknown or slowly varying. Moreover, we suppose that the angular velocity is not measured and its numerical evaluation is unsatisfactory. Simulations are presented.

Controlled synchronization of pendula
42nd IEEE International Conference on Decision and Control (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37475), 2004In this paper we design a controller forsynchronization problem for two pendula suspended on anelastically supported rigid beam. A relation to Huijgens'experiments as well as the practical motivation are emphasized.

Fibonacci codes for synchronization control
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 1965A new family of codes is described for representing serial binary data, subject to constraints on the maximum separation between successive changes in value (0 \rightarrow 1, 1 \rightarrow , or both), or between successive like digits ( 0 's, 1 's, or both).
