Understanding the Effects of Conductive Polymer Electrode Coating on Recorded Neural Signals
Conductive polymer coatings are widely explored to improve the quality of signals recorded with chronically implanted neural electrodes, offering enhanced biocompatibility along with reduced electrode impedance. Combining computational modelling and data from PEDOT:PTS coated and PtIr electrodes in rats, we show that improvements in signal quality with

A PSO-based approach for parameter estimation in synchronous machines [PDF]
This study employs the particle swarm optimization (PSO) approach using Stand Still Frequency Responses Testing (SSFR) to identify the time constants (poles and zeros) of the operational inductances along the d and q axes, as well as the ...

Dynamic Modulation of the Microenvironment Promotes Functional Maturation of Engineered Tissues
Engineered tissues lack the dynamic microenvironment of native tissues. A biocompatible, diffusible small molecule to dynamically modulate tissue microenvironments during maturation is used. Timing‐dependent modulation yields distinct outcomes, producing thicker, more native‐like blood vessels, stronger and more mature cardiac tissues, and optimized ...

Design and Synthesis of Peptide‐Polyester Conjugates for Cell‐Mediated Scaffold Degradation
This work describes polycaprolactone (PCL)‐based biomaterials engineered to degrade in response to cell‐secreted proteases. A fast‐degrading peptide (Fast) sequence is integrated into a PCL conjugate backbone to produce a biomaterial that is selectively degraded by multiple cell types compared to its scrambled control (ScrFast).

Stator Electrically-excited Brushless Synchronous Machine and Its Inductance Calculation
It is known that the reliability of electrically excited synchronous machine with brush is reduced. It proposed a new type of electrically excited synchronous machine, the stator electrically-excited brushless synchronous machine (SEBSM).
