The chapter deals with the modelling of the synchronous machines (SMs). Following the introduction of the continuous development of the SMs, their a-b-c model is established considering the case of salient pole machines. Then, the Park transform is applied to the established a-b-c model, leading to the Park one.

Synchronous Machine Regulators
2010This chapter describes the most relevant synchronous machines primary regulators and limiters. These are the turbine governor, the automatic voltage regulator and the over- and under-excitation limiters. These regulators are the dynamic counterpart of the static capability curve described in Section 12.2.1 of Chapter 12.
