An investigation of the synchronous reluctance motor
ICEMS'2001. Proceedings of the Fifth International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (IEEE Cat. No.01EX501), 2002Based on the viewpoint of the energy conversion, this paper analyzed the effect which the X/sub d/, X/sub q/ and the saliency ratio K exert on the performance of the reluctance motor and discussed the problem of choosing the appropriate saliency ratio K.

Identification Of Synchronous Reluctance Motor Parameters
Singapore International Conference on Intelligent Control and Instrumentation [Proceedings 1992], 2005The detection of the neutral point voltage of three-phase synchronous reluctance motors is useful for obtaining information on the operating conditions of the motor and also on the Fourier coefficients of the air gap permeance. It is known that these parameters are crucial for the accurate evaluation of the motor’s main quantities.

Design of synchronous reluctance motor
Proceedings:Electrical Electronics Insulation Conference and Electrical Manufacturing & Coil Winding Conference, 2002The design of a synchronous reluctance motor with a segmental rotor is described. Three types of rotor configuration have been proposed and evaluated. The behavior of these motors are investigated by finite element analysis. The effects of cross coupling magnetization and magnetization saturation on the inductances are also demonstrated.

Technology comparison of induction motor and synchronous reluctance motor
IECON 2017 - 43rd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2017Electric motors play an important role in global efforts to reduce energy consumption as they account for almost half of the total electrical energy usage in the world. The energy consumption of electric motors can be reduced by using more efficient motors and by applying frequency converters to feed the motors, thereby enabling accurate control ...

Identification of linear synchronous reluctance motor parameters
Conference Record of the 2000 IEEE Industry Applications Conference. Thirty-Fifth IAS Annual Meeting and World Conference on Industrial Applications of Electrical Energy (Cat. No.00CH37129), 2002This paper deals with experimental methods for the identification of linear synchronous reluctance motor (LSRM) parameters. A magnetically nonlinear two-axis dynamic LSRM model is derived. This model accounts for the effects of slotting, saturation, cross-saturation, and the end effects. The parameters of the obtained model are not constant.

Optimisation analysis of synchronous reluctance motor design
Seventh International Conference on Electrical Machines and Drives, 1995The paper presents an automatic procedure for the design optimisation of a synchronous reluctance motor with a flux barrier rotor that combines the finite element analysis (FEA) with an optimisation routine. The aim of the optimisation is the improvement of the torque and it is carried out considering two different design strategies.

Stability of Reluctance Synchronous Motor
IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1968The paper presents a block diagram representation of the reluctance synchronous motor and investigates its dynamic stability under different operating conditions using the linear servo theory. Both the stability of torque and power angle functions and of the overall system, including the system dynamics, are analyzed for different steady-state power ...

Position Control of a Sensorless Synchronous Reluctance Motor
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2004This paper presents a novel position control for a sensorless synchronous reluctance drive system. By measuring the three-phase currents of the motor, a rotor position estimator is achieved. Then, a velocity estimator is derived from the estimated rotor position by using a state estimating technique. The estimated velocity tracks the real velocity well.

Predictive Control of Synchronous Reluctance Motor Drive
2007 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2007A predictive digital control algorithm, suitable for synchronous reluctance motor drives, is presented in the paper. The proposed algorithm, which is a direct digital control one, is implemented in rotor coordinates. It is a recursive algorithm which allows the imposition of the reference values of d and q current components. The digital control system

Metal 3D printing of synchronous reluctance motor
2016 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT), 2016The synchronous reluctance motor (SynRM) is widely used because of its excellent performance such as high efficiency and accurate speed control. In this paper, the rotor with the squirrel cage consisted of three design parts is shown. An additive manufacturing method (selective laser melting) for fabricating the three parts of the rotor in one build is
