A synchronous reluctance motor with a laminated rotor
Russian Electrical Engineering, 2009Optimal tooth factors and polar overlap are obtained using numerical calculations of an in-plane magnetic field in the active volume of a synchronous reluctance motor (SRM) with a laminated rotor using FEMM 4.01 (Finite Element Method Magnetics, Version 4.01) software.

Reluctance synchronous motor asynchronous operation
IEEE CCECE2002. Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering. Conference Proceedings (Cat. No.02CH37373), 2003Although a synchronous machine is under consideration in this paper, the asynchronous performance of the reluctance synchronous machine is the relevant consideration. The machine starting procedure and its ability to synchronize successfully, even with high inertia loads, are also important issues to be considered in this paper.

Induction and synchronous reluctance motors comparison
2008 34th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics, 2008The aim of this paper is to investigate and compare the performances of two induction motors and two transverse laminated synchronous reluctance motors (induction motor nameplate data: 2.2 and 4 kW, 380 V, 50 Hz, 4 pole). Each induction motor is compared with a synchronous reluctance motor, that has the same stator lamination and winding, but ...

Synchronous Reluctance and PM Assisted Reluctance Motors
2016This chapter focuses on the key notions about analysis and design of synchronous reluctance and permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance motors. The aim is to highlight not only the advantages of such machines but also some drawbacks of theirs, such as the low power factor and the torque ripple.

Modeling and identification of synchronous reluctance motors
2017 IEEE International Electric Machines and Drives Conference (IEMDC), 2017The goal of this paper is to propose a model of the (cross-)saturated SynRM suitable for sensorless control purposes, together with an identification procedure suitable for reasonably easy use in the field: the model contains about ten parameters, which are identified from only the drive current measurements, in experiments where the rotor is locked in

Control and analysis of synchronous reluctance motors
Proceedings of the 1999 American Control Conference (Cat. No. 99CH36251), 1999Nonlinear mathematical models of synchronous reluctance motors are developed in the machine (abc) and in the quadrature, direct and zero (qd0) variables. Kirchhoff's voltage law and Newton's second law are used to find the differential equations which map the circuitry and torsional-mechanical dynamics.

Reluctance synchronous motors modelling and analysis
2012 International Conference on Applied and Theoretical Electricity (ICATE), 2012This paper presents a possibility for the theoretical and experimental modelling and analysis of the reluctance synchronous motors asynchronous starting. In the first part of the paper the two axes theory mathematical model of the reluctance synchronous motor is presented.

Sensorless control of synchronous reluctance motors
2017 IEEE Transportation Electrification Conference and Expo, Asia-Pacific (ITEC Asia-Pacific), 2017A new sensorless control method for synchronous reluctance motor(SynRM) is proposed. The speed and rotor position estimation are based on the stator voltage equation. The speed is estimated using the stator voltage and current. The rotor position is obtained by the speed integral.

Magnetic Circuit of a Synchronous Reluctance Motor
Electric Machines & Power Systems, 1999This paper presents a model of the magnetic circuit for an axially laminated synchronous reluctance motor. The basis of the modelling technique is the determination of a value for an equivalent "q-channel" reluctance. This reluctance contains all the effects of paths available to q -axis flux through the rotor body.
