Signal selection and latency compensation in wide area controlled power system

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 13, Issue 8, Page 3885-3902, August 2025.
Abstract This paper presents a new approach for selecting signals for the monitoring and control of power systems over a wide area. The approach solves the twin problems of locating Phasor Measurement Units for observability and placing dynamic controllers for controllability using distinct techniques.

Static VAr Compensator Control Using Phasor Measurement Unit Feedback Signals for Voltage Stability Improvement in Power Systems

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 13, Issue 7, Page 3569-3587, July 2025.
Static VAr Compensators can provide significant improvement in power system stability. Phasor Measurement Units are used in combination with SVCs for fast and reliable control of its operation. By combining the VAr control and Voltage Regulation control methods of the SVC, superior performance is obtained.

Design and evaluation of multidimensional CNN simulation framework against synchrophasor data spoofing attacks and correction for cyber‐resiliency in power system

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission &Distribution, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
The technique involves source authentication to detect anomalies in phasor measurement unit (PMU) data by extracting spatial fingerprint information. The extracted information is then used as inputs for a multi‐dimensional convolutional neural network simulation framework.
