Making Photoresponsive Metal–Organic Frameworks an Effective Class of Heterogeneous Photocatalyst

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes photoresponsive MOFs for photocatalytic applications, focusing on their capacity to enhance light harvesting, charge transfer, and surface reactions. While existing studies provide foundational insights, emerging characterization techniques enable a deeper understanding of photoresponsive MOFs.

Investigate the Function and Structure of (Fe,Cr) La2Ti2O7 Photocatalyst Calcined under the Nitrogen Atmosphere

open access: yesBulletin of Chemical Reaction Engineering & Catalysis, 2023
Extensive research has been conducted on enhancing the photocatalytic activity of Lanthanum titanium oxide (La2Ti2O7) based photocatalysts. However, these photocatalysts were found to be inactive under visible light.

Chiral Fermions on the Lattice [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
A recently proposed method for regularizing chiral gauge theories non-perturbatively is discussed in detail. The result is an effective action which can be computed from the lattice gauge field, and which is suited for numerical simulations.Comment: Talk

Elucidating Sodium Ion Storage Mechanisms in Hard Carbon Anodes at the Electronic Level

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐resolution, multi‐frequency continuous wave, and pulsed Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) spectroscopy uncover the intricate Na ion storage mechanisms in hard carbon. This study reveals the coexistence of Na ion intercalation and solvent co‐intercalation, alongside a subsequent transition of Na ions from ionic to quasi‐metallic to metallic ...

Multifunctional Hydroxyapatite Coated with Gallium Liquid Metal‐Based Silver Nanoparticles for Infection Prevention and Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A multifunctional hydroxyapatite (HAp) coating integrated with silver‐gallium liquid metal nanoparticles (HAp‐Ag‐GaNPs) exhibits dual antibacterial and osteogenic properties. It effectively inhibits Gram‐positive and Gram‐negative bacteria, including resistant strains, while enhancing bone regeneration.

Synchrotron Radiation as the Source of GRB Spectra, Part I: Theory

open access: yes, 1999
We investigate synchrotron emission models as the source of gamma ray burst spectra. We show that allowing for synchrotron self absorption and a ``smooth cutoff'' to the electron energy distribution produces a wide range of low energy spectral behavior ...

Evolution of the synchrotron and inverse Compton emissions of the low energy peaked BL Lac object S5 0716+714 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper presents a detailed analysis of the temporal and spectral variability of the low-energy peaked BL Lac object S5 0716+714 with a long (~74 ks)X-ray observation performed by XMM-Newton on 2007 September 24-25.

Unique Performance Considerations for Printable Organic Semiconductor and Perovskite Radiation Detectors: Toward Consensus on Best Practice Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...

Confinement in Three Dimensions and the Electroweak Phase Transition [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
The infrared behaviour of the standard model at finite temperature is determined by the confining phase of the SU(2)-Higgs model in three dimensions. Due to the Landau singularity of the three-dimensional gauge theory the perturbative treatment of the ...
