Accompanying Structural Transformations in Polarity Switching of Heavily Doped Conjugated Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The polarity switching of heavily doped p‐type conjugated polymers (CPs) toward environmentally stable electron‐rich thin films is demonstrated. Multiscale analyses, incorporating spectroscopic, electrochemical, and scattering techniques, reveal structural and chemical transformations induced by excessive doping with AuCl3.

Localized Spin Textures Stabilized by Geometry‐Induced Strain in 2D Magnet Fe3GeTe2

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Strain engineering in 2D van der Waals ferromagnet Fe₃GeTe₂ is studied using scanning transmission X‐ray microscopy. Spatially varying strain from micropillar arrays induced local 10 K Curie temperature increases, stabilizing magnetic domains including skyrmions and skyrmion bags near pillar corners.

Synthesis and Electrochemistry of Stacking Fault‐Free β‐NaMnO2

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An inherent tendency to form intergrown stacking faults in corrugated layered β‐NaMnO2 hinders the understanding of its structural transition during electrochemical reaction. The synthesis of fault‐free β‐NaMnO2 unveils in‐plane sliding of corrugated MnO2 as well as excellent capacity retention in Na cells, providing a strategy to exploit Mn‐based ...

Reversible multivalent carrier redox exceeding intercalation capacity boundary

open access: yesNature Communications
Compared with widely established monovalent-ion batteries, aqueous multivalent-ion batteries promise higher capacity release by achieving multiple electron-transfer events per ion intercalation in the host material.

Stimuli‐Responsive Low‐Frequency Terahertz Absorption ON‐OFF Switchability in Spin‐Crossover Material

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A switchable Fe(II)–Hg(II) coordination polymer exhibits reversible ON‐OFF terahertz (THz) absorption through temperature‐ and light‐induced spin‐crossover. The material shows strong, tunable THz responses linked to phonon modes around Fe(II) centers, supported by spectroscopic measurements and calculations.

Polycondensation as a Universal Method for Preparing High‐Density Single‐Atom Catalyst Libraries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a universal bottom‐up polycondensation strategy for synthesizing high‐density single‐atom catalysts (HD‐SACs) with metal loadings up to 27.5 wt%. Using various metal monomers with 1,10‐phenanthroline‐5,6‐dione ligands, it generates atomically dispersed mono‐ and bimetallic HD‐SACs.

Spin‐polarized Acidic Water Electrolysis with Antenna‐Reactor Plasmonic Electrocatalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A chiral plasmonic antenna–reactor electrocatalyst, integrating Au nanoflowers as the antenna and iridium single atoms as the reactor, achieves spin‐polarized and light‐driven water electrolysis in acidic media. The catalyst exhibits high activity and durability, enabled by hot‐carrier transfer and the CISS effect, as supported by operando spectroscopy
