Mammography with synchrotron radiation.
Radiology, 1995To determine the feasibility of using synchrotron radiation (SR) in diagnostic mammography.Monochromatic SR of x-ray beams of selected energies of 14-20 keV were used to obtain mammograms of surgically removed breast specimens that contained tumor nodules.

SYNCHROTRON RADIATION FOR ANGIOGRAPHY
Annual Review of Biophysics and Biophysical Chemistry, 1987The intensity, monochromaticity, and tunability of synchrotron radiation make it well suited for transvenous coronary angiography. An X-ray imaging system based on synchrotron radiation has provided images of the coronary circulation in dogs and in human subjects.

Observation of coherent synchrotron radiation
Physical Review Letters, 1989Coherent effects in synchrotron radiation (SR) have been observed for the first time from 180-MeV short electron bunches of 2.4 mm using the Tohoku 300-MeV Linac. The intensity of the coherent SR was about ${10}^{5}$ times as strong as that of incoherent SR in the wavelengths of 0.4--2.2 mm.

Spectroscopy with Synchrotron Radiation
1989We describe the results of spectroscopic investigations performed on solid materials using synchrotron radiation at the Italian Synchrotron Radiation Facility PULS showing the importance of such a realization. A perspective for future developments using a third generation storage ring is also briefly outlined.

A formulation to characterize stimulated emission of synchrotron radiation is presented, based on simplification of a theory developed by Sokolov and Ternov. It is shown that optical gain may be obtained up to gyration harmonics of the order of the critical harmonic number for spontaneous radiation 3${\ensuremath{\gamma}}^{3}$, where \ensuremath{\gamma}

Characteristics of Synchrotron Radiation
1991When relativistic electrons experience centripetal acceleration due to the presence of a magnetic field, they emit electromagnetic waves that are commonly called 'synchrotron radiation' because first observed in the visible region, at the 70 MeV small electrosynchrotron, by a research group working in 1947 at the General Electric Research Laboratory ...

Mössbauer filtration of synchrotron radiation
Soviet Physics Uspekhi, 1987Although the first proposal to use synchrotron radiation (SR) for the excitation of a Mossbauer transition was made by S.L. Ruby in 1974 [1], only in 1983 was a paper published [2] on successful Mossbauer investigation with the use of SR, carried out in the Soviet Union at the VEPP-3 storage ring in Novosibirsk (Institute of Nuclear Physics, Siberian ...
