In this study, a combination of X-ray excited optical luminescence (XEOL), time-resolved XEOL (TR-XEOL) and the Hanbury-Brown and Twiss (HB-T) interferometer at the Taiwan Photon Source (TPS) 23A X-ray nanoprobe beamline for exploring quantum materials ...

Terminal groups on Cu porphyrins modulate the electronic states of single‐atom Cu centers through a long‐range electronic effect, without altering the Cu coordination geometry. Meanwhile, a multi‐descriptor framework is established that incorporates porphyrin regulation, hybrid catalyst properties, and CO2 photoreduction capabilities.

Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory. Activity report for 1988 [PDF]
For SSRL operations, 1988 was a year of stark contrasts. The first extended PEP parasitic running since the construction of our two beam lines on that storage ring took place in November and December.

CuFeS2 is found to induce the formation of intermediate phases, highlighting a strong Cu–Fe synergistic effect during conversion reactions in lithium all‐solid‐state batteries (Li‐SSBs). The integrated reaction pathway effectively suppresses phase separation and accelerates reaction kinetics, leading to enhanced electrochemical reversibility and ...

Radiation spectrum of an electron moving in a spiralin medium
The action of the Doppler effect on the particularities of radiation power spectral distribution of an electron moving in a spiral in a medium has been investigated near the Cherenkov threshold.

We report an unconventional effect of synchrotron X-ray irradiation in which Co–O bonds in thermally annealed (Y, Co)-codoped CeO2 nanocrystal samples were formed due to, instead of broken by, X-ray irradiation.

Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory. Activity report for 1989 [PDF]
The April, 1990 SPEAR synchrotron radiation run was one of the two or three best in SSRL`s history. High currents were accumulated, ramping went easily, lifetimes were long, beam dumps were infrequent and the average current was 42.9 milliamps.

A giant magnetic coercivity and a vertical shift of hysteresis loops are demonstrated in Sr3YCo4O10+δ epitaxial films. The hard magnetic behavior originates from ferromagnetic spin bags stabilized within a long‐range ordered oxygen‐vacancy structure.

Transition metal oxy/carbo‐nitrides show great promise as catalysts for sustainable processes. A Mn‐Mo mixed‐metal oxynitride attains remarkable performance for the direct synthesis of acetonitrile, an important commodity chemical, via sequential C─N and C─C coupling from syngas (C1) and ammonia (N1) feedstocks.

Synchrotron Radiation and Instrumentation at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility
A low-emittance 6 GeV storage ring aimed at producing high-brilliance synchrotron radiation from 29 insertion devices and 27 bending magnet ports is being presently constructed in Grenoble, France. The insertion de- vices include undulators, wigglers and wavelength shifters giving access to high-brilliance undulator radiation as well as extremely high ...
