BackgroundSyndromic surveillance promotes the early detection of diseases outbreaks. Although syndromic surveillance has increased in developing countries, performance on outbreak detection, particularly in cases of multi-stream surveillance, has ...

PANoptosis in the pathogenesis of myelodysplastic syndromes
PANoptosis, a combination of three types of programmed cell death, is mediated by a large protein complex called a PANoptosome. In healthy bone marrow hematopoietic cells, PANoptosis is restricted by inhibitory signaling. In MDS, bone marrow cells become sensitive to the PANoptotic stimuli due to the aberrant inactivation of inhibitory signaling or ...

Mechanisms and therapeutic opportunities of the ribotoxic stress response in cancer
Cancer cells' high translational demand creates opportunities to therapeutically target ribosome function. Ribosome stalling and collisions activate ZAKα and the ribotoxic stress response (RSR), which can trigger rapid, p53‐independent apoptosis in cancer.

School-based influenza-like-illness (ILI) syndromic surveillance can be an important part of influenza community surveillance by providing early warnings for outbreaks and leading to a fast response.

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Medication Sales and Syndromic Surveillance, France
Although syndromic surveillance systems using nonclinical data have been implemented in the United States, the approach has yet to be tested in France. We present the results of the first model based on drug sales that detects the onset of influenza season and forecasts its trend.

Meta-Analysis of the Accuracy of Syndromic Surveillance
We present the first meta-analysis of co-evolutionary learning networks for digital disease surveillance research over last 10 years. In doing so, we show the co-evolution and dynamical changes that occurred in academic research related to digital disease surveillance for improving accuracy, approach and results.

The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.
