A sustainable business ecosystem: a case study demonstrating biochar's potential
Abstract The need for renewable, climate‐friendly resources has become urgent as legislators worldwide have sought to find ways to cut emissions while ensuring resource security for consumers. The use of biochar could help to achieve these goals. This study examines the current state of commercial biochar production and the maturity of the related ...

Abstract Synthesis gas fermentation is a promising route for the valorization of steel mill off‐gas and for replacing conventional fossil‐based isopropyl alcohol (IPA) production. A recent 120 L pilot‐scale study reported 85% gas conversion at 90% product selectivity and claimed a negative global warming potential (GWP) without detailed process design.

MODELLING AND SIMULATION OF FUELS PRODUCTION FROM SYNGAS
Syngas is a very important product, with a variety of uses; it may even become a primary source of fuel, and replace natural gas. This is because syngas has the building blocks to create all the products and chemicals currently generated in the ...

Organophotoredox/Cobalt‐Catalyzed Retro‐Hydroformylation of Aldehydes
A new photoredox/cobalt retro‐hydroformylation is developed. This one‐pot two‐step process involves the in situ formation of the corresponding 1,4‐dihydropyridine as key intermediate. Under mild reaction conditions, alkenes are efficiently produced from a wide range of aliphatic α‐monosubstituted aldehydes, with high functional‐group tolerance.

Risk assessment of syngas pipeline leakage based on a Dynamic Bayesian Network
The syngas pipeline serves as the primary carrier for syngas exported from the coal gasification furnace, is vulnerable to corrosion and erosion from the transported medium, and is prone to leakage due to long-term high-pressure operation.
