Origin of Room Temperature Methanol Synthesis over Hcp‐PdMo

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The hexagonal close‐packed PdMo (hcp‐PdMo) intermetallic catalyst exhibits the room temperature catalytic activity for CO2 hydrogenation to methanol, where the adjacently arranged Pd and Mo sites play important roles in methanol synthesis. Mechanism study revealed that the reaction proceeds via a reverse water‐gas shift and subsequent CO hydrogenation (

Hazards associated with syngas storage [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2019
Energy needs of many countries are largely covered by energy obtained from fossil fuels. This in turn involves environmental pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. The growing environmental awareness and the need to prevent climate changes mean that clean energy and alternative energy sources are still a significant research issue.

Classification and Characterization Methods for Heterojunctions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Currently, there is no unified standard for the classification and nomenclature of heterojunctions. To address this issue, this article systematically summarizes and standardizes the classification and naming rules for heterojunctions. Furthermore, it provides a clear elucidation of the differences in photogenerated carrier behavior among O–scheme, Z ...

Aluminum Distribution in Ferrierite Zeolites Influences the Performance of Methane Oxidation

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
FER‐type aluminosilicate zeolites with preferential Al occupancy at T4 site favor direct methane‐to‐methanol oxidation, while those with Al concentrated at T3 sites within 10‐ring channels facilitate tandem conversion of methane‐to‐methanol on oxidative sites, followed by methanol‐to‐hydrocarbons on acidic sites.

Critical factors affecting the integration of biomass gasification and syngas fermentation technology

open access: yesAIMS Bioengineering, 2016
Gasification-fermentation is a thermochemical-biological platform for the production of fuels and chemicals. Biomass is gasified at high temperatures to make syngas, a gas composed of CO, CO2, H2, N2 and other minor components.

Carbon Hollow Fiber Penetration Electrode with Unsaturated Ni‐N2 Coordination for Enhanced CO2 Electroreduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A hierarchical porous carbon hollow fiber anchoring Ni‐N2 structures is developed as a self‐supporting electrode for efficient and stable CO2 conversion to CO. The unique penetration effect of the hollow fiber electrode, combined with the unsaturated Ni‐N2 coordination structure, significantly enhances CO2 electroreduction performance, achieving high ...

Partial Oxidation of Methane to Syngas via Formate Intermediate Found for a Ruthenium–Rhenium Bimetallic Catalyst

open access: yes, 2021
Partial oxidation of methane (POM) is a potential technology to increase the efficiency of synthesizing a mixture of CO and H2 called syngas, in comparison to steam reforming processes.

The effect of impurities on syngas combustion [PDF]

open access: yesCombustion and Flame, 2015
Abstract The effects of chemical impurities on the combustion of syngas were investigated, focusing on CH 4 , a common component of syngas, and trimethylsilanol (TMS), an unstudied impurity related to those common to landfill-based syngas. Ignition properties were systematically investigated at high-pressure low-temperature conditions relevant to gas

An Innovative Approach to Precisely Tailor the Composition of Syngas in CO2 Electroreduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A new CuIn/BP (copper‐indium/black phosphorus) heterostructure catalyst is designed and synthesized by simple one‐step co‐reduction. A linear correlation is observed between the H2/CO molar ratio and the content of BP in CuIn/BP for the first time. By simply altering the content of BP in the catalyst, H2/CO ratio in syngas could be precisely tuned on ...
