Hemangioma of the Synovial Membrane
The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery, 1959Eleven patients with hemangioma of the synovial membrane have been seen at the Mayo Clinic from 1907 through 1956. The tumor occurred in the knee in nine patients, and in the ankle and elbow, respectively, in two others. These patients represent the first reported instances of involvement of these joints. The results of this study suggest that synovial

Permeability of the Synovial Membrane to Glycoproteins
Nature, 1961ELECTROPHORETIC investigations have indicated differences in glycoprotein pattern between serum and synovial fluid1–3. The most marked difference is that the relative amount of α2-glycoproteins is considerably less in synovial fluid than in serum. It was recently demonstrated4 that the low α2-content of rheumatoid arthritic synovial fluid is mainly due

Structure of Synovial Membrane of Sheep
American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1973SUMMARY Synovial membranes from 5 normal lambs were studied by light and electron microscopy. Three variations of synovium were identified in individual joints. Fibrous synovium was composed of lining cells resembling fibrocytes superimposed on electron-dense connective tissue.

Synovial Membrane Punch Biopsy
Archives of Internal Medicine, 1961Biopsy material has proved to be of value in the investigation of many inflammatory and malignant disease processes. Examination of the synovial membrane by open biopsy, under anesthesia, has been performed by orthopedists for many years. Polley and Bickel, in 1951, 1,2 described an instrument for performing a closed punch biopsy.

The infrapatellar fat pad and the synovial membrane: an anatomo‐functional unit
The infrapatellar pad, a fibro-adipose tissue with peculiar microscopic and mechanical features, is gaining wide attention in the field of rheumatological research. The purpose of this descriptive review is to summarize the most recent published evidence

Permeability of the Synovial Membrane to Proteins
Acta Rheumatologica Scandinavica, 1963SummaryThe normal synovial membrane has been shown to be only slightly permeable to proteins, especially certain glycoproteins. After filtration of serum through a hyaluronic acid gel in vitro a protein profile similar to that of normal synovial fluid is obtained.

TUMORS OF BONE AND SYNOVIAL MEMBRANE
Archives of Surgery, 1951LESIONS WHICH SIMULATE NEOPLASMS OF BONE RIBEIRO, 1 who had previously reported a case of epidermoid cyst of the phalanges in 1942, has found that reviews of the literature did not include all the cases which had been published. Counting those cases which had been omitted in previous series, the number of published cases of this condition is now 14 ...
