Synovial membrane scanning in arthritic disease
Seminars in Nuclear Medicine, 1972Arthritis is a common disease frequently difficult to diagnose in its early stage. In many cases it is difficult to separate a nonarthritic joint complaint from the early stage of inflammatory arthritis. Synovial membrane scanning is an objective technique that can detect synovitis before it becomes apparent clinically or roentgenographically.

TUMORS OF BONE AND SYNOVIAL MEMBRANE
Archives of Surgery, 1951LESIONS WHICH SIMULATE NEOPLASMS OF BONE RIBEIRO, 1 who had previously reported a case of epidermoid cyst of the phalanges in 1942, has found that reviews of the literature did not include all the cases which had been published. Counting those cases which had been omitted in previous series, the number of published cases of this condition is now 14 ...

Innervation of synovial membrane and meniscus
Acta Orthopaedica Scandinavica, 1985Substance P-immunofluorescent nerves, which are closely connected to pain transmission, were shown in human knee synovial membrane and menisci. Both tissues also contained enkephalin-immunofluorescent nerves, which are probably involved in the modulation of pain transmission.

Percutaneous Biopsy of the Synovial Membrane
Seminars in Musculoskeletal Radiology, 1997Techniques of percutaneous synovial biopsy under fluoroscopic control of large joints of the limbs (other than the knee) may be useful in arthritis of undetermined etiology especially when infection is considered. Main technical refinements include adequate selection of an optimal approach and biopsy site using new imaging methods, use of a Tru-Cut(R ...

[Cartilage and synovial membrane].
Revue du rhumatisme et des maladies osteo-articulaires, 1989The synovial membrane acts on the cartilage at the levels of the synovial cells, the production of soluble factors and the cartilage components. The synovial membrane is at the same time a trophic, an immunologic and a defense organ. One does not oppose anymore the aspects found in normal synovium to those found in osteoarthritis and in rheumatoid ...
