Comparative Analysis of Circulating and Synovial Immune Cells in Early Untreated Rheumatoid Arthritis and Their Relationship With Molecular Pathology and Disease Outcomes

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Volume 77, Issue 10, Page 1349-1361, October 2025.
Objective To assess the relationship of circulating and synovial immune cells with synovial molecular pathology and disease outcomes in patients with early rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Methods Patients with early (<12 months) treatment‐naive RA (n = 144) from the Pathobiology of Early Arthritis Cohort were included in this post hoc analysis.

Gout and NLRP3 Inflammasome Biology

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Volume 77, Issue 10, Page 1317-1326, October 2025.
This review describes the three broad stages of acute inflammation in the context of gout: initiation, leucocyte mobilization, and self‐resolution. A typical case of a gout flare is presented. The role of the NLRP3 inflammasome in acute monosodium urate crystal–induced inflammation is reviewed in detail.

Tumefactive Demyelinating Lesion Induced by Infliximab in a Patient With Rheumatoid Arthritis: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 10, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Tumor Necrosis Factor‐alpha (TNF‐α) inhibitors have been successfully used to treat rheumatoid arthritis (RA), psoriatic and ankylosing arthritis, and inflammatory bowel disease. While these inhibitors effectively decrease the inflammatory activity of immune‐related disorders, they have been associated with central nervous system (CNS) and ...

Kaplan Lesion in a 10‐Year‐Old Boy: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 10, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Kaplan's lesion, a rare complex metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint dislocation in children, is often requires surgical intervention. The dorsal approach minimizes neurovascular risk, while the volar approach allows volar plate repair. A 10‐year‐old boy presented with a left index finger MCP dislocation after trauma.

Telomere–metabolism–immunity axis in sarcoma: Immune evasion mechanisms and therapeutic strategies

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 10, October 2025.
Telomere maintenance mechanisms (telomerase reverse transcriptase and alternative lengthening of telomeres) reprogram metabolism and dampen innate immune sensing in sarcomas. Metabolic rewiring (glutamine addiction, glycolysis and fatty acid oxidation) fosters T‐cell dysfunction and myeloid‐derived suppressor cell accumulation.

TEAMwork: Interplay of Post‐Transcriptional Mechanisms, Epigenetics and Metabolism in (Auto‐)Immunity

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 55, Issue 10, October 2025.
This review discusses the principles underlying the interplay of epigenetics, metabolism, and post‐transcriptional regulation of gene expression mediated by RNA‐binding proteins, both in the nucleus and in the cytoplasm. Particularly, it focuses on the relevance that these circuits have in lymphocytes and autoimmunity.
