Towards Interval Version of Fuzzy Synsets
2016WordNet-like Lexical Databases (WLDs) group English words into synsets, being utilized in several text mining applications. Synsets were also open to criticism, because while synset members (wordsenses) are, in practice, considered as compeers, yet in theory not all of them represent the synset meaning with a same degree.

Dimentional sentiment analysis by synsets and sense definitions
2016 International Conference on Asian Language Processing (IALP), 2016This paper proposed several approaches to predict sentiment feature values by information provided in semantic resources. The rating of a sentiment feature of a target word was predicted by weighted averaging of similar words in WordNet or Cilin whose sets of senses greatly overlapped with the sense set of the target.

Automatic Generation of Synsets for Wordnet of Hindi Language
International Journal of Natural Computing Research, 2018India is a land of 122 languages and numerous dialects. Lack of competent lexical resources for Indian languages is a ubiquitous fact, which negatively affects the development of tools for NLP of Indian languages. Recent advancements like the Indo WordNet project has significantly contributed to dealing with the scarcity of lexicons, but the progress ...

Semantic Map Model and Construction of Synset
Advanced Materials Research, 2013Language Information Processing has to achieve the goal of automated label of word meaning. To realizing this aim one of the chief tasks is construction of synonym synset. Functional synonym is faced with two big problems: scientific description and construction of synset.

Language-specific Synsets and Challenges in Synset Linkage in Urdu WordNet
2016The Urdu WordNet is being developed following the process used to develop the Hindi WordNet by using the Expansion Approach. This paper, in the first part, presents some of our experiences that we gathered in the process of building the Urdu WordNet as a part of the IndoWordNet.

Mapping of Selected Synsets to Semantic Features
2016In the paper we devise a novel algorithm related to the area of natural language processing. The algorithm is capable of building a mapping between the sets of semantic features and the words available in semantic dictionaries called wordnets. In our research we consider wordnets as ontologies, paying particular attention to hypernymy relation.

The Nature of Semantic Primitive and Its Role in Synset Construction
Lecture Notes in Computer Science, 2013Semantic primitive exists in lexical level, conceptual level and semantic level. This paper analyzes the meaning and usage of semantic primitive and explores their definitions and connotations in different linguistic levels. It mainly discusses the role of semantic primitive in synset construction.

Visual Synset: Towards a higher-level visual representation [PDF]
We present a higher-level visual representation, visual synset, for object categorization. The visual synset improves the traditional bag of words representation with better discrimination and invariance power. First, the approach strengthens the inter-class discrimination power by constructing an intermediate visual descriptor, delta visual phrase ...

Problems Caused by Semantic Drift in WordNet Synset Construction
In this study, we summarize the semantic drift problem that occur in specific synsets of KeNet, a Turkish WordNet, which is caused by mis-merging of semantically-related lexical items, morphological markings and false part of speech (POS) matchings. We present our approach to these problems in order to eliminate the semantic drift.

Add-Remove-Confirm: Crowdsourcing synset cleansing
2015 9th International Conference on Application of Information and Communication Technologies (AICT), 2015Thesaurus is a crucial resource for many natural language processing and artificial intelligence problems, which require common sense reasoning. It is becoming highly topical to put special effort to ensure the high quality of synsets when a thesaurus is created collaboratively by non-expert annotators.
