Ultrasound synthetic aperture non-line-of-sight imaging [PDF]
Non-line-of-sight (NLOS) imaging typically relies on the use of ultrashort laser pulses and time-resolved detection to then reconstruct 3D environments that are hidden from the direct line-of-sight.

Analysis Method for Determining Optimal Synthetic Aperture Time Using Estimated Range and Doppler Cone Angle at the Center of Synthetic Aperture Length [PDF]
Synthetic aperture time (SAT) is a crucial component for acquiring high-quality synthetic aperture radar images with an excellent target cross-range resolution.

Interferometric synthetic aperture microscopy [PDF]
State-of-the-art methods in high-resolution three-dimensional optical microscopy require that the focus be scanned through the entire region of interest. However, an analysis of the physics of the light-sample interaction reveals that the Fourier-space coverage is independent of depth.

Differential synthetic aperture ladar [PDF]
We report a differential synthetic aperture ladar concept that relaxes platform and laser requirements compared with those for conventional synthetic aperture ladar. Line-of-sight translation-vibration constraints are reduced by several orders of magnitude, while laser frequency stability is typically relaxed by an order of magnitude.

Synthetic Aperture Hitchhiker Imaging [PDF]
We introduce a novel synthetic-aperture imaging method for radar systems that rely on sources of opportunity. We consider receivers that fly along arbitrary, but known, flight trajectories and develop a spatio-temporal correlation-based filtered-backprojection-type image reconstruction method. The method involves first correlating the measurements from

Metalenses are ultrathin optical elements that can focus light using densely arranged subwavelength structures. Due to their minimal form factor, they have been considered promising for imaging applications that require extreme system size, weight, and power, such as in consumer electronics and remote sensing. However, as a major impediment prohibiting

Ultrasonic Synthetic-Aperture Interface Imaging [PDF]
Synthetic-aperture (SA) imaging is a popular method to visualize the reflectivity of an object from ultrasonic reflections. The method yields an image of the (volume) contrast in acoustic impedance with respect to the embedding. Typically, constant mass density is assumed in the underlying derivation. Due to the band-limited nature of the recorded data,

The imaging quality of the synthetic aperture system is sensitive to the positioning accuracy of the sub-aperture primary mirror. A novel flexible mounting structure of bimetallic material is proposed for the athermalization of the sub-aperture primary ...
