This paper presents deformation analysis of Lake Urmia causeway (LUC) embankments in northwest Iran using observations from interferometry synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) and finite element model (FEM) simulation. 58 SAR images including 10 ALOS, 30 Envisat and 18 TerraSAR-X are used to assess settlement of the embankments during 2003–2013.

Abstract Seasonal land motion can be caused by processes above or below Earth's surface, often linked to natural changes in the hydrological cycle. In coastal deltaic systems, the coupling of water level changes between rivers and aquifers may cause significant surface deformation, but this process is poorly understood.

Monitoring Groundwater Pumping Using Time‐Lapse Tomography From Ambient Seismic Noise
Abstract Management of water resources will be of critical importance as the effects of climate change accelerate. This implies the need to monitor water resources with high spatial and temporal resolution. One way to meet this need could be passive seismic methods using ambient seismic noise. In this study, we present a novel approach using time‐lapse

Analysis and correction of spatial variant background ionosphere impacts on single-pass InSAR system
Compared with the repeat-pass interferometry synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) system, the single-pass InSAR system, such as TanDEM-X and TanDEM-L, has better performance and less decorrelation.

The movement and deformation of rock strata and the ground surface is a dynamic deformation process that occurs as underground mining progresses. Therefore, the dynamic prediction of three-dimensional surface deformation caused by underground mining is of great significance for assessing potential geological disasters.

Abstract Quantifying fault frictional properties is fundamental to understanding slip behavior and seismic hazard. We analyze 2 years of Sentinel‐1 SAR data following the 2023 Turkey earthquake doublet using Independent Component Analysis‐enhanced Small Baseline Subset‐InSAR, to resolve postseismic deformation and invert for afterslip on the East ...
