Synthetic aperture sonar in turbulent media

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1979
A method of synthetic aperture sonar imaging that is effective even in turbulent media is proposed. Signals received at a fixed point on a scanning plane are used as reference signals, and the averaging effect is applied in the process of aperture synthesis to obtain stable images within the same scanning time as conventional methods. The principle and

Deepfakes and Synthetic Media

Deepfakes and synthetic media, powered by AI technologies like Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and Diffusion Models, pose significant threats to digital trust and security. These tools enable the creation of highly realistic forgeries, which are increasingly exploited in social engineering attacks to spread misinformation, manipulate emotions ...

Synthetic Radical Reactions in Aqueous Media

Synlett, 2002
This account focuses on the discovery and the rationalization of solvent effects, especially those of water, on synthetically useful radical reactions. Noteworthy advantages were observed during the course of our study onradical reactions in aqueous media.

Platelet ADP response deteriorates in synthetic storage media

Transfusion, 2005
BACKGROUND:  During storage under blood bank conditions, platelets (PLTs) are known to secrete ADP. PLT stimulation by ADP results in refractoriness to restimulation, making this response one of the most unstable PLT reactions. The goal of this study was to evaluate the ADP‐induced responses of PLTs stored in full plasma or in plasma and additive ...

Synthetic Sisterhood in Malaysian Women’s Media

2020
This chapter explores the linguistic strategies that women’s media in Malaysia employ to build a sense of friendship and intimacy with their audience. It extends Talbot’s work on ‘synthetic sisterhood’ in a magazine in two main ways. Firstly, it examines the language features used not only to establish this imaginary friendship, but also to preserve it.

The culture of lymph nodes in synthetic media

Experimental Cell Research, 1955
Abstract Lymph nodes from young rats were cultured in fluid media. The cultures were supported at the surface of the medium on a grid of tantalum wire gauze. Each vessel contained 15–20 cultures in 5.5 ml of medium and the gas phase was 3 per cent CO2 in oxygen. In most experiments the lymph nodes were cultured for 4 days.
