Parallel Community Detection Based on Distance Dynamics for Large-Scale Network

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Data mining task is a challenge on finding a high-quality community structure from largescale networks. The distance dynamics model was proved to be active on regular-size network community, but it is difficult to discover the community structure ...

GPredicates: GPU Implementation of Robust and Adaptive Floating-Point Predicates for Computational Geometry

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Geometric algorithms rely on predicates, among them, the 2D and 3D orientation and incircle tests are important ones. Shewchuk's adaptive floating-point predicate is a well-known C implementation, which is embedded in many computational geometry ...

A novel small diameter nanotextile arterial graft is associated with surgical feasibility and safety and increased transmural endothelial ingrowth in pig

open access: yesJournal of Nanobiotechnology, 2022
Globally, millions of patients are affected by myocardial infarction or lower limb gangrene/amputation due to atherosclerosis. Available surgical treatment based on vein and synthetic grafts provides sub-optimal benefits.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Preference for Fractal-Scaling Properties Across Synthetic Noise Images and Artworks

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2018
A large number of studies support the notion that synthetic images within a certain intermediate fractal-scaling range possess an intrinsic esthetic value.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.
