Disruption of Bacterial Cells by a Synthetic Zeolite [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Microbiology, 1968
The use of a synthetic zeolite (type 4A, Union Carbide Corp., Linde Div., New York, N.Y.) in a procedure for the preparation of pure cell wall fractions proved successful for many gram-positive, gram-negative, and acid-fast bacteria, as well as for some fungi. The technique, however, was found to be limited in effectiveness for

Adsorption of CO2 by synthetic zeolites [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2020
The paper reports on a possible way to recycle fluid catalytic cracking catalysts (FCCCs), widely used in oil refining operations. This research proposes a novel approach that leads to a near zero-waste process. The spent FCCC was leached by 1.5 mol/L of HNO3, HCl and H2SO4 solutions at 80°C, for 3 h with a solid to liquid ratio of 20 %wt/vol.
