Approaches in addressing system of systems

2012 7th International Conference on System of Systems Engineering (SoSE), 2012
The concept of waste through lack of coordination of independent organisations into a larger system is examined and an estimate of losses reported. An approach for single organisational structural analysis is extended to multi-organisational analysis to provide examples of benefits.

Elastography: A systems approach

International Journal of Imaging Systems and Technology, 1997
We present a review of elastography from a systems point of view. We show that elastography can be viewed as a cascade of two distinct processes. The first process involves the mapping of the distribution of local elastic moduli in the target into a distribution of local longitudinal strains.

An approach for systems evolution

2004 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37583), 2005
Due to the immaturity of practice and the increasing complexity of system-of-systems (SOS), there have been obvious needs to develop a systematic methodology that enables the evolution of such systems. This paper presents a prototype design for a synthetic systems evolution environment (SEE).

An approach to evolutional system

Proceedings of the First IEEE Conference on Evolutionary Computation. IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence, 2002
Everything on the earth, from chemical compounds to living things, consist of about 100 kinds of chemical elements. Moreover, they are considered to have self-organized. In order to elucidate the mechanism of such self-organization we made a simple model. When self-organization occurs, there must be some information of the structures.

Errors in systems approaches

International Journal of System of Systems Engineering, 2012
Understanding and treating problems in complex systems, independent of the systems construct (i.e., socio-technical systems or socio-ecological systems), dictates the use of a formal systems approach. The systems approach may be methodological, a method, or a technique, but in each case it involves the imposition of order that ranges from the ...

An approach to systems correctness

Proceedings of the third symposium on Operating systems principles - SOSP '71, 1971
First, the problem of proving the correctness of an operating system is defined. Then a simple model is presented. Several examples are given to show how this model allows derivation of proofs about small systems.
