Modulation frequency response of a bistable system with noise
Physical Review E, 2004We present a method to construct a modulation frequency response curve for bistable systems in the presence of noise. To this end, a small sinusoidal modulation is applied to the system such that it switches between its two stable states. The response curve we construct yields information on the nature of the physical mechanism underlying the switching

Computing frequency responses of uncertain systems
IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Fundamental Theory and Applications, 1998A numerical approach is proposed for computing the frequency-response templates of a class of rational transfer functions whose coefficients are affine functions of some interval parameters. This approach is based on characterizing the template as the set of points in the complex plane that make the value set of a certain polytope of polynomials to ...

System identification from a frequency response
Proceedings of 32nd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2002This paper considers the problem of approximating a possibly infinite-dimensional multi-input multi-output (MIMO) system by a finite-dimensional system. Unlike most methods which appear in the literature, the method discussed here does not assume a priori knowledge of an analytic expression (i.e. transfer function). An L/sup 2/ approximation problem is

Frequency Response System Identification
2003In the first part of this chapter, we introduce the basic principles of frequency-domain identification and briefly discuss the advantages that frequency-domain methods have over time-domain techniques for rotorcraft identification. Then we give a description of the CIFER identification tool used for this work.

Frequency response of digitally controlled systems
Journal of Guidance and Control, 1981Multirate sampling techniques are used to sharpen and extend the concept of "frequency response" for discretely excited continuous systems. Frequency response, in this case, pertains to steady-state response of continuous variables at the input frequency and its positive aliases. Simple expressions are given for computing the amplitude ratios and phase
