We proposed a simple method to enhance shielding factor of our previously proposed bi-stage active shield system employed in a SQUID-based magnetocardiography system. The additional proposed design is optimized for canceling the power-line magnetic interference field to provide a calmer magnetic environment for the bi-stage active shield.

Actively shielded transportable SMES-systems
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1996Previous investigations on active shielding of SMES systems have proved to be successful in reducing the stray field. It was shown that the stray field of a single solenoidal SMES can be diminished by adding shielding solenoids under the condition that the sum of the magnetic dipole moments of all coils equals zero.

Active shielding suitable for electron beam lithography systems
Digest of INTERMAG 2003. International Magnetics Conference (Cat. No.03CH37401), 2003This paper describes suitable active shielding (AS) for electron-beam lithography systems (EBLSs). The optimal position of a reference sensor (RS), of which the signal is used to feed a current into a canceling coil (CC), is discussed. Preliminary experiments using an EBLS verification model and three-dimensional (3-D) magnetic field computations were ...

Low Noise Active Shield for SQUID-Based Magnetocardiography Systems
IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity, 2018A light weight and low-cost active magnetic shield system is proposed for a single channel SQUID-based magnetocardiography system equipped for operating at liquid nitrogen temperature without passive magnetic shield. The developed active shield, using coils around the sensors, is a two-stage magnetic shielding system, each stage of which has been ...

Active Shielding Design of Patrol Robot Wireless Charging System
2019 IEEE 3rd International Electrical and Energy Conference (CIEEC), 2019The wireless charging technology (WPT) is a hot research topic at present. Because of its plug-in-free feature, it is very suitable for patrol robots. In order to reduce the influence of wireless charging coupling mechanism on electromagnetic environment in non-working area, a shielding device was designed and its finite element model (FEM) was ...

Operational experiences of active shielding systems for overhead HV lines
2012 IEEE International Energy Conference and Exhibition (ENERGYCON), 2012In the framework of reducing the impact of the electric system infrastructure, the paper presents the successful field application of the principle of active shielding of the magnetic field of HV overhead lines. Two plants have been deployed and are currently being operated since some years on a 132kV and a 400kV line.

An actively compensated 8 nT-level magnetic shielding system for 10-m atom interferometer
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2021We design and develop a high-performance magnetic shielding system for a long baseline fountain-type atom interferometer. The shielding system is achieved by a combination of passive shielding using permalloy and active compensation with coils. An 11.4 m-long three-layer cylindrical shield is completed by the process of welding, local annealing, and ...

The problem of reducing the magnetic field generated by a group of overhead power lines by means of active shielding is considered. First, a metamodel of the magnetic field generated by a group of overhead power lines was synthesized. The task of synthesizing the metamodel of the magnetic field is reduced to a zero-sum antagonistic game. The components

An actively shielded gradient coil design for use in planar MRI systems with limited space
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2018In planar magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems, gradient coils are usually placed within a very limited space owing to the physical constraints of the small gap size (pole-pole) distance of the permanent magnet. Typically, the unshielded or partially shielded design scheme is adopted to generate required magnetic fields with reduced system costs ...
