Systems of Ordinary Differential Equations
2010In Chap. 2, we saw that models of the form\(y{\prime}(t) = F(y),\,\,\,y(0) = y_{0,}\)can be used to model natural processes.

Systems of Ordinary Differential Equations
2019Integration of systems of ODEs by seeking first integrals is studied. The connection with first-order PDEs is examined. The integration of a system of linear ODEs is seen to reduce to an eigenvalue problem.

Reduction of underdetermined systems of ordinary differential equations: III
Differential Equations, 2009The author considers the classification of underdetermined systems of quasi-linear autonomous ordinary differential equations under smooth transformations of the dependent variables. For this purpose, the differential equations are transformed into equivalent Pfaffian systems.

Systems of Ordinary Differential Equations
2017So far we have only considered scalar boundary value problems, that is, a single differential equation that contains one unknown function u(x). We now generalise the finite element method so that it may be applied to coupled systems of differential equations.

Solving Systems of Ordinary Differential Equations
1998Abstract If a process is described by a system of ordinary differential equations, which is also a boundary value problem (BVP), a clearer physical understanding is obtained from the solution of the BVP problem, rather than treating the system as an initial value problem (IVP).

Stiff Systems of Ordinary Differential Equations
2003The experience of numerical integration of Cauchy problems for ordinary differential equations shows that it is especially the stiff systems that require a special numerical methods. In this chapter the effect of λ-transformations on such systems of ordinary differential equations and on methods of their integration will be considered.
