Boundary Layer Equations and Lie Group Analysis of a Sisko Fluid

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2012
Boundary layer equations are derived for the Sisko fluid. Using Lie group theory, a symmetry analysis of the equations is performed. A partial differential system is transferred to an ordinary differential system via symmetries.

Impulsive Control Strategy for a Nonautonomous Food-Chain System with Multiple Delays

open access: yesJournal of Control Science and Engineering, 2016
A nonautonomous food-chain system with Holling II functional response is studied, in which multiple delays of digestion are also considered. By applying techniques in differential inequalities, comparison theorem in ordinary differential equations ...

A Class of Collocation Hybrid Backward Differentiation Method for Initial Value Problems of Ordinary Differential Equations

open access: yesFountain Journal of Natural and Applied Sciences (FUJNAS)
The development of a linear multistep method for initial value problems of Ordinary Differential Equations (O.D.E.s) has been the subject of investigation for some time. In this work, a class of hybrid backward differentiation methods with step number k=

Effects of viscous dissipation on MHD boundary layer flow of Sisko fluid over a stretching cylinder

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2016
The present study concentrates on the analysis of magnetohydrodynamic boundary layer flow of Sisko fluid over continuously stretching cylinder. The viscous dissipation effect is assumed in heat equation.

Heat transfer in a micropolar fluid over a stretching sheet with Newtonian heating.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
This article looks at the steady flow of Micropolar fluid over a stretching surface with heat transfer in the presence of Newtonian heating. The relevant partial differential equations have been reduced to ordinary differential equations.

Asymptotic Behavior of Systems of Linear Ordinary Differential Equations [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1984
Conditions will be placed on the m × m m \times m matrices G ( t ) G(t) and G i ( t ) {G_i}(t) to assure that for any integer k = 1 ,

Exploring novel applications of stochastic differential equations: Unraveling dynamics in plasma physics with the Tanh-Coth method

open access: yesResults in Physics
This study addresses the solution of differential equations converted into stochastic differential equations with the introduction of a noise term. To simplify the stochastic complexity, we employ a transformation, converting the equations into ordinary ...

A Spreadsheet Solution of a System of Ordinary Differential Equations Using the Fourth-Order Runge-Kutta Method

open access: yesSpreadsheets in Education, 2012
Solving systems of ordinary differential equations (ODEs) by using the fourth-order Runge-Kutta (RK4) method in classroom or in examinations is quite tedious, tiring and boring since it involves many iterative calculations.
