The objective of the paper is to lay down a foundation for imprecise system reliability assessments based on coherent imprecise probabilities that are a particular case of coherent imprecise previsions. Previous attempts of wide implementation of other theories of imprecise probabilities in reliability analyses have not succeeded.

On the Reliability of Repairable Systems
Operations Research, 1984This paper considers the time to first failure for repairable coherent systems containing independent exponential components. It derives several inequalities and relates them to previous work of the author and of Keilson to obtain approximations with error bounds for the distribution of the time to first failure.

Reliability of physical system
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 1959This paper presents the general concept of the reliability of the complex physical system which consists of a number of unreliable elements. Such a system is analyzed systematically by means of algebraic and topological theory. Various properties concerning the system reliability are established.
