On Improving the Design of Parity-Check Polar Codes
In this paper, a new design of concatenated polar codes is proposed. By concatenating an outer code with polar codes, the distance spectrum can be improved, leading to enhanced decoding performance of vanilla polar codes.

Fast Polar Decoders: Algorithm and Implementation
Polar codes provably achieve the symmetric capacity of a memoryless channel while having an explicit construction. This work aims to increase the throughput of polar decoder hardware by an order of magnitude relative to the state of the art successive ...

Scalable Successive-Cancellation Hardware Decoder for Polar Codes
Polar codes, discovered by Ar{\i}kan, are the first error-correcting codes with an explicit construction to provably achieve channel capacity, asymptotically.

Code Constructions for Physical Unclonable Functions and Biometric Secrecy Systems [PDF]
The two-terminal key agreement problem with biometric or physical identifiers is considered. Two linear code constructions based on Wyner-Ziv coding are developed. The first construction uses random linear codes and achieves all points of the key-leakage-

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Fast-SSC-Flip Decoding of Polar Codes
Polar codes are widely considered as one of the most exciting recent discoveries in channel coding. For short to moderate block lengths, their error-correction performance under list decoding can outperform that of other modern error-correcting codes ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Evaluation of adaptive reconciliation protocols for CV-QKD using systematic polar codes
Abstract Quantum key distribution (QKD) is a secure cryptographic technology that enables two authenticated parties to share secret keys. Information reconciliation is an essential step in continuous-variable quantum key distribution (CV-QKD) protocols, which affects both the complexity and performance of the system. This paper reviews adaptive
