Renal fibrosis, a hallmark of CKD, lacks effective treatments. Herein, we developed a multimodal AI model (TCM‐SPred) to identify anti‐fibrotic agents and found that dehydrocostus lactone (DCL) targets IQGAP1 to inhibit Wnt signaling, blocking the interaction between IQGAP1 and CCT3, demonstrating potent anti‐fibrotic activity in vitro and in vivo ...

Can Financial Openness Help Avoid Currency Crises? [PDF]
By introducing the concept of conditional probability of joint failure (CPJF), and by proposing a new measure for the systemic impact of currency crises, we provide new insights into the different sources of currency crises.

We developed a macrophage‐based therapeutic platform, termed trackable tolerogenic macrophages (TTM), for dual‐function immunomodulation and visualization in vivo. TTM cells were engineered to overexpress PD‐L1, incorporate bioorthogonal cell surface tags, and load rapamycin for sustained release.

A framework for assessing systemic risk [PDF]
When faced with financial crises, authorities worldwide tend to respond aggressively with public support measures. Given the adverse impact on moral hazard and market discipline, support measures involving public money are ideally limited to crisis ...

The AAA+ ATPase Valosin‐containing protein (VCP/p97) regulates protein homeostasis by unfolding ubiquitinated substrates. Here, we describe UTE‐156, a novel irreversible covalent inhibitor that modifies Cys522 in the D2 ATPase motor domain. Although its pharmacochemical limitations preclude immediate therapeutic use, UTE‐156 serves as a valuable ...

The Subprime Crisis and the European Banking Sector: the Renewal of Universal Banks? [PDF]
Since the 90's, European banks have sustained numerous structural disturbances. Their degree of integration combined with the universality of our institutions in the banking sector may then be an important factor to take into account in appreciating its ...

This study developed an eEF2K‐targeting PROTAC, A6, that efficiently degrades eEF2K in TNBC cells, inhibiting tumor growth in vitro and in vivo. To enhance tumor‐specific delivery, we engineered A6@ZIF‐8, a pH‐sensitive nanocarrier, which improved drug accumulation at tumor sites, offering a promising therapeutic strategy for TNBC through targeted ...

The Market's View on the Probability of Banking Sector Failure: Cross-Country Comparisons [PDF]
Considering the increasingly international banks of today, the health of a country's banking sector is crucial not only to the country's growth and prosperity but also to the rest of the international financial community.

Hepatocyte BDNF Acts as a Novel Immune Checkpoint to Restrain TLR4‐Mediated Acute Hepatitis
This study identifies hepatocyte‐derived BDNF as an endogenous TLR4 antagonist that alleviates acute hepatitis. BDNF is downregulated in hepatocytes via REST‐mediated transcriptional repression during ALI/ALF. Mechanistically, BDNF binds to TLR4 on macrophages to suppress inflammation.
