Radio communications: components, systems, and networks

IEEE Communications Magazine, 2006
Summary form only given. In this issue of the series, our focus is back on the basic techniques and building blocks of communication systems such as transceivers and modulation. In addition, we provide a look into new standardization activity in the area of cognitive radios.

Nonlinear systems and communications systems

5th International Conference on Telecommunications in Modern Satellite, Cable and Broadcasting Service. TELSIKS 2001. Proceedings of Papers (Cat. No.01EX517), 2002
We consider the aspect of power efficiency in signal transmission of band-limited signals. After studying the power efficiency of linear channels and its restrictions by 50% it is shown that nonlinearity enhanced the power efficiency up to 100%. As an example audio power amplication is considered in detail. It is shown that by means of nonlinear signal

Navigation and communications systems

International Conference on Consumer Electronics, 1989
There has been a growing trend toward incorporation of various types of communications function within navigation systems to create systems which provide greater functionability as compared to navigation systems which provide route-guidance functions alone. The authors, believing that navigation systems with greater position determination precision are

Signalling and Communication Systems

2013
The signalling system is an essential part of a railway. The essential purpose of the railway signalling system is: to maintain a safe distance between following trains on the same track; to safeguard the movement of trains at junctions, and when crossing a path which could be taken by another; to regulate the passage of trains ...
