Expert systems: a view of the field
IEEE Expert, 1996Reports of the decline of expert systems are greatly exaggerated. Survey results indicate impressive growth, as researchers develop systems to tackle difficult but commercially rewarding problems.

Manifestation of eddy and meridian fields of systems
Kybernetes, 2010PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to use the general systemic yoyo model to illustrate why electric fields and magnetic fields can manifest each other and interact with each other.Design/methodology/approachThe coordinated interaction of eddy and meridian fields of spinning yoyos is employed as our methodology for the investigation in this paper.

Trimodal random-field Ising systems in a transverse field
Physical Review B, 1991The trimodal random-field Ising model with the presence of a transverse field is investigated by introducing a parameter p to simulate the fraction of spins not exposed to the external longitudinal magnetic field. Phase diagrams are obtained for different cases, and conditions for the occurrence of tricritical and reentrant phenomena are found.

On Systems and Their Fields of Sustainability
SSRN Electronic Journal, 2012Systems and their respective fields of sustainability are approached within the context of systems philosophy and ontology. A fundamental reflection is provided regarding the ontology of systems, the importance and dynamics of their respective fields of sustainability.

The elusive field of systems biology
Physiological Genomics, 2004“Systems biology” is quickly emerging as the popular term describing many exciting scientific activities of postgenomic biology. There is now even a department of systems biology (Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA), [1][1] and an institute of systems biology (The Institute for Systems Biology,

The dynamics of S02 exposure concentrations at any point are unique, determined by distance from various sources, source strengths, wind speed and direction, topography, stack height, and a variety of lesser influences. Nevertheless, in the simplest analysis, distinction can be made between exposure patterns in the vicinity of point (single) sources ...

Abstract The field of system governing lies between the problems of pulsating loads and electrical stability on the one hand and frequency or time control on the other. It is concerned with the short period swings or hunting action for which poor governors are usually responsible.
