The aim of this paper is to explicate the concept’ system’ as a working tool for the practice of analytical philosophy. System is defined as a mode of description, as a description of a conceptual holism. Some of the implications of this are considered.

A scheduling philosophy for multiprocessing systems
Communications of the ACM, 1967A collection of basic ideas is presented, which have been involved by various workers over the past four years to provide a suitable framework for the design and analysis of multiprocessing systems. The notions of process and state vector are discussed, and that the nature of basic operations on processes is considered.
