AbstractThis article introduces a new formal theory, the theory of $M$-system, which represents a many-valued logic system. Basic terms and concepts are defined which are the foundation for their further application. Though the theory comes from the field of electric circuitry, an attempt will be made to extend it to applications in linguistics.
